It is believed that this society spanned from 1600 B.C and collapsed by 1200 A.D, the site was declared as a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in December 2000. Some of the most impressive monuments and temples in Tiwanaku are: the Kalasasaya Temple, the Semi-underground Temple, the Pyramid of Akapana, the Ponce Monolith, the Gate of the Sun and many others.

- Location: Tiwanaku
- 7:00: Pick up from your hotel.
- 7:30: Transportation to Tiwanaku. On the route you will have a great view of the Royal Range of the Andes, going through the high plateau.
- 9:00: Once in Tiwanaku, you will visit the Stone and Ceramic Museums, where guests will get an initial understanding of the Andean culture.
- 10:00: Walk through the ruins, where you will find The Akapana Pyramid, the Semi-underground Temple, the Kalasasaya Temple where the famous Ponce, Fraile and the Gate of the Sun are displayed. You will also see the new archaeological excavations, which started in back in 2005.
- 11:30: Back to La Paz.
- 13:00: Light lunch at Hotel Rosario´s Tambo Colonial restaurant - End of service.
